Tumescent Local Anesthesia

Tumescent local anesthesia is a special form of local anesthesia. Dr. Gerhard Sattler, Director of Rosenpark Clinic, was one of the first doctors to use it in Germany more than 25 years ago and has since continuously refined the method.

During tumescent local anesthesia, a highly diluted anesthesia solution is applied into the subcutaneous fatty tissue in large quantities in order to numb larger areas. The major advantages:

  • Larger areas can be locally numbed safely.
  • The anesthesia lasts for a long time.

With tumescent local anesthesia the patient is awake and in full possession of his/her physical and mental faculties.

Tumescent local anesthesia is offered for the following treatments at Rosenpark Clinic: liposuction, vein treatments, hyperhidrosis, facelift and many more.

Anxious, excitable or algesic patients can additionally receive analgo-sedation from our anesthesiologists in order to place them in a pleasant state of sedation.

You can find more information in our "Anesthesia" information sheets, which you can request from us free of charge.
