From this vision emerged one of the most renowned private clinics for aesthetic medicine, plastic surgery, and dermatology in Germany—a center of excellence that is recognized far beyond the country’s borders.
The sudden death of Dr. Gerhard Sattler in September 2022 left a great void—for his family, his friends, his team, his patients, and the international medical community.
To this day, we feel his influence every day.

Dr. Gerhard Sattler, M.D., was one of the world’s leading experts in aesthetic surgical dermatology and one of the defining pioneers of modern aesthetic medicine.
As early as the late 1980s, he recognized the enormous potential of minimally invasive and surgical procedures and was among the first doctors in Germany to focus intensively on liposuction, autologous fat therapy, and aesthetic facial rejuvenation.
In particular, the introduction and further development of liposuction under tumescent local anesthesia brought him international recognition. He established this particularly gentle procedure in Germany early on and played a decisive role in its further development over many years.
Throughout his medical career, Dr. Gerhard Sattler personally performed more than 13,000 liposuction procedures and over 30,000 aesthetic facial treatments.
Even more impressive than these numbers, however, was the trust that people from all over the world placed in him.
For decades, patients from all over Germany, Europe, and numerous other countries traveled to Darmstadt to be treated by Dr. Gerhard Sattler. His name was synonymous worldwide with the highest level of medical expertise, exceptional experience, and natural treatment outcomes.
To this day, this trust fills us with deep gratitude.

Dr. Gerhard Sattler was far more than an outstanding physician—he was a researcher, author, mentor, and one of the most important pioneers of modern aesthetic medicine.
With over 100 scientific publications, numerous textbooks, and countless presentations at national and international conferences, he shared his knowledge with colleagues from around the world for decades. His goal was always to advance aesthetic medicine in a way that was safer, gentler, and more scientifically sound.
International professional exchange was a particular priority for him. Through the International Darmstadt Live Symposium on Surgical Dermatology and Aesthetic Surgery, which he founded, he created a globally recognized platform for scientific exchange among leading experts that flourished for many years.
Even though this symposium no longer takes place today, his vision lives on: to share knowledge, learn from one another, and continuously advance medical innovation.
Equally important to him was the support of the next generation of medical professionals. Many doctors who are renowned today were trained, mentored, or deeply inspired by him, and they continue to carry forward his philosophy in their own clinics and practices to this day.
For Dr. Gerhard Sattler, the patient was always the focus.
He was convinced that high-quality medical care can only be achieved when expertise, experience, research, and empathy go hand in hand.
This conviction remains the foundation of the Rosenpark Clinic to this day.
