Local Anesthesia

Local anesthesia is used to numb small areas. It is divided into:

  • Surface local anesthesia: A numbing cream is applied to small skin areas.
  • Infiltration anesthesia: The numbing agent is injected directly into the tissue to be treated.

During both procedures the patient is awake and in full possession of his/her physical and mental faculties.

Anxious, excitable or algesic patients can additionally receive analgo-sedation from our anesthesiologists in order to place them in a pleasant state of sedation.

You can find more information in our "Anesthesia" information sheets, which you can request from us free of charge.
