Injection lipolysis – the lipodissolve injection against small fat pads

Could they only disappear just like that – annoying small fat pads

  • on the chin
  • or body.

Injection lipolysis (lipodissolve injection) does the trick. It simply liquidates small localized collections of excess fat and is also suitable to round off the results of a liposuctions.

What is done?

For injection lipolysis the active ingredient phosphatidyl cholin is injected directly into the fat tissue: 1.5 cm apart and 1.5 cm deep into the skin. In the areas around the injection points it causes deterioration of fat cells and their subsequent removal by the blood circulation.

Is some sort of anesthesia required?

The treatment is performed under <link en range-of-treatments anesthesia local-anesthesia internen link im aktuellen>local anesthesia using an anesthetic cream which is allowed to take effect for about 20 minutes. For more information about your options for a comfortable, pain-free treatment see the anesthesia section.

When can I resume normal daily activities?

Immediately. After the outpatient treatment, which takes about 30 to 60 minutes, you can go about your daily life, work or do sports without any restrictions. However, the desired inflammation in the fatty tissue produces a slight pain in the treated areas for about ten days. Possible haematomas or initially still visible puncture marks can be covered up.

Expert tip:

Dr. Birgit Buxmeyer: "Injection lipolysis is the ideal choice for small fat deposits. Whereas, an alternative to liposuction it is not – more a supplement to beautifully round up the results of a surgical fat removal."
