Fractional Laser for Body Skin Rejuvenation

The skin on our bodies can regenerate itself into old age, but sometimes it lacks the right stimulus.
This can be provided by fractional lasers: With individual rays of collimated light, they penetrate the uppermost layers of the skin and create micro-injury points at a depth within the skin. The surrounding, undamaged tissue is stimulated to produce new cells and thus fresh collagen. At the same time, the destroyed cells are carried away. The effect: The skin regenerates from within and appears younger and fresher.

Which fractional lasers are used and how do they work?

The effects of fractional lasers for body skin rejuvenation can be divided into two groups:

  • Deeply penetrating, without damaging the upper layer of skin: For this purpose, we use the Solta Fraxel re:store DUAL® with a thulium laser and an erbium glass laser as well as the Palomar Star Lux 1540™ erbium glass laser.
  • Intensive and ablating: For this purpose, we use the Solta Fraxel re:pair®.

How is it performed?

The rays of the fractional laser are emitted in a grid-like pattern via a hand piece. The dermatologist thus passes over the skin several times in different directions in order to achieve the most even treatment pattern as possible.

Is some sort of anesthesia required?

The treatment is generally performed under local anesthesia using an anesthetic cream, sometimes in combination with pain-relieving drops, or during sedationFor more information about your options for a comfortable, pain-free treatment see the <link en rosenpark-klinik range-of-treatments anesthesia internal-link internen link im aktuellen>anesthesia section.

When can I resume normal daily activities?

Following treatment with the

  • Solta Fraxel re:store DUAL®, it is best to allow yourself three to four days of downtime while the skin is reddened and visibly peeling.
  • Palomar Star Lux 1540™, the redness will remain for only one to two days, with significantly less peeling.
  • Solta Fraxel re:pair®, the skin bleeds and weeps – this is an intended reaction. You should allow yourself about one week for healing.

After laser treatment you should generally avoid direct sunlight for two to three months.

Does the treatment need to be repeated?

For the best result with the Palomar Star Lux 1540™, we recommend a cycle of four to six treatments at four-week intervals.

Even after the first application of the Solta Fraxel re:store DUAL®, successful results are visible. We recommend two to four treatments at four-week intervals.

Treatment with the Solta Fraxel re:pair® generally does not need to be repeated.
