Poly-L Lactic Acid – Augment Volume with the Body's Own Collagen

Polylactic acid has been used for more than 30 years in cosmetic surgery. For about ten years, poly-L lactic acid has had a role in aesthetic medicine.

The lactic acid gel promotes the production of the body's own collagen:

Poly-L lactic acid is injected using a very thin needle or a mostly blunt cannula in the subcutaneous tissue and massaged in. Normally the treatment involves two to three sessions, each one about eight weeks apart. The build-up of connective tissue is stimulated. After about three months, the final volume treatment result is achieved, due to the body´s own collagen production. This result can last up to one and a half years.

Depending on the size of the regions to be treated and the number of injections, a session generally lasts about one hour in total. Temporary redness and minor bruises at the injection sites are normal. They can be easily concealed with a gentle cosmetic preparation before you return home.
